My name is Kevin W. Mohan, though most people know me as Mo Magic.
I was born in 1969 in Mount Kisco, New York, and raised in New Milford, Connecticut, where I first discovered magic as a teenager.
What started as curiosity quickly became obsession. Long before social media or YouTube, I spent countless hours practicing sleight of hand, studying books, performing at restaurants, and learning how to connect with people through wonder.
In my younger years, magic became more than a hobby. I performed professionally full-time for several years, working restaurants, private events, and venues throughout Connecticut, New York, and the broader Tri-State area.
Those years taught me lessons that still shape my life today: discipline, patience, timing, confidence, and how to connect with people from all walks of life.
During those years, I also served as Past President of the Danbury Top Hatters, a local chapter of the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.).
Over time, life shifted. I explored other businesses, different paths, and different seasons of life.
One of my early restaurant performances featured in The News-Times during my years performing as “Mo the Magician” throughout Connecticut.
In 2016, my life changed dramatically.
Regrettably I made a bad decision during a very dark season of my life — one I deeply regret — and I ultimately spent five years rebuilding from the consequences of that season.
That experience forced me to slow down, reflect, take responsibility, and rebuild from the ground up.
While incarcerated, I began studying computer science and started college from the inside, later continuing my education after returning home and eventually graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Computer Science.
I also spent much of that time reading — everything from investing and business books, to psychology, mindset, self-improvement, and personal development.
Those years reshaped the way I think about money, discipline, growth, and long-term thinking — ideas that still influence my newsletter, creative work, and business philosophy today.
Years later, I found myself drawn back to magic — but with a completely different perspective.
When I was younger, magic was often about performance.
Today, it feels more personal. More human. Less about fooling people... and more about creating moments people actually remember.
Whether I’m performing on the streets of New Haven, at a restaurant, filming a YouTube Short, or writing my newsletter, the goal is the same: create something real.
Today, Mo Magic is more than performances.
It has evolved into a creative platform built around: storytelling, street magic, YouTube, writing, investing, mindset, faith, and rebuilding life one step at a time.
Alongside magic, I also founded CodeBreeze Solutions LLC , a New Haven based web development and digital marketing company.
Whether it’s magic, code, writing, or business, the philosophy stays the same: keep showing up, keep learning, and keep building.
I also write Mo Magic Weekly, a newsletter where I share stories and lessons about: magic, money, mindset, faith, creativity, and the long game of rebuilding.
No fake guru energy. No hype. Just honest reflection, growth, and forward motion.
I don’t pretend to have life figured out.
But I do believe people can rebuild. I believe growth is possible. I believe wonder still matters.
And I believe your worst mistake does not have to define your entire story.
So for now, I’ll keep practicing, creating, writing, filming, learning, and showing up.
Watch the videos, read the newsletter, or connect on social media.
I still accept select live performances, private events, college events, restaurants, creative collaborations, and unique entertainment experiences.
Whether performing live or creating content, the goal stays the same: create memorable moments people actually remember.
